"Can you please talk about some conspiraces concerning Bill Cipher?" -COOLMAN
You can bet your -12 dollar bill I can! Speaking of negative twelve dollar bills, my friend Jill is amazing, she got me one for Christmas, along with a Stan dollar. Bless her, I love her so much...
By the way, Coolman, I am so sorry that this is so late! School is a pain, but a pain we all have to go through. It sucks.
Anyway, on to the theories!! Well, conspiracies more like. Not all of these are mainly about Bill Cipher, but they all are related to him in some way.
A Bill... Cult?
There is this theory that goes with this concept of a Bill-centric cult within Gravity Falls. It deals with a lot of evidence from The Society of the Blindeye and The Last Mabelcorn, here they are:
A Bill-centric Cult:
"'Things that still bother me
Bill’s alternate wheel, shown in Ford’s dream in the Last Mabelcorn.
Those symbol’s from SotBE episode match perfectly with the ones on the outer circle. @mrsjadecurtiss was theorizing that the circles in the first pic are Bill Cipher Wheels from the past. [see more here]
The X got added later. Just like the tubes. And it’s lit by fire? Must have been built before eletricity was a common thing. And those eyes…
…so…. many… eyes…
I’m going to scream ‘cause it all proves my secret Bill-centric cult theory right. [it’s here] but I will recap main points:
“Gideon’s Tantrums = Bud Gleeful, Misspelled Tattoos = the “Head, Chin” bodyguard, Shandra’s Rejections = Toby Determined, Society’s views =Woodpecker Guy, A fear of witches = the guy who gave Waddles to Mabel , A life of regret = Blind Ivan, these are the things that they try to forget”
Also how else, if not by the cult, could you explain so many cameos of Bill on random objects in GF but nowhere outside (as we could observe in a Tale of Two Stans)?
Has anyone ever asked themselves where did Ford get all those dark magic stuff in Journal 2 from? We saw Dipper encountering many supernatural creatures, but NOTHING that could be the source of the magic.
Plus this cult isn’t new at all… I mean…
It’s ancient, it was there even before the town got funded.
“Geographically Gravity Falls is perfect”. Bill was scheming this for centuries. Generations after generations of people living in this area. A layer of the Wheel after a layer. This is big and Ivan used to be a part of it. Ford knew about it. They worked together. Just [look at this post].
(here camera doesn’t focus on Bill, but on that look-alike of Ivan).
Bill's Past Pawns:
"'Whoa, I forgot about the 2nd wheel in Ford's dream. It being past Bill pawns makes so much sense. But that raises a concerning question: What happened to the other people who were on previous wheels? Did he just leave them alone after they fulfilled their purpose, or did they somehow need to be sacrificed or disposed of before Bill could move on to the next set? -TA' -submitted by anonymous to
Considering Pitagoras was most probably one of the pawns…
And it’s super old. (I got more screencaps proving my point and an elaborated theory on the secret cult [here]). I have absolutely no knowledge on the history of architecture but it most certainly is at least 100 years old. Judging from the fact that they use fire instead of electricity to light the place.
“Who keeps drawing these?” - THE SECRET CULT. Please tell me why does the majority of the fandom choose to ignore the whole issue. It just blows my mind."
Leader of the Cult:
"'Ivan was probably the leader of said cult before SotBE happened" I've been thinking about this in relation to the Ivan-Northwest theory, and it occurred to me that the Blind Eye would explain why there's so much Bill Cult imagery, but seemingly no currently active Bill Cult members. If Ivan was indeed a former cult member, or even the leader, then it certainly explains the "life of regret" clue in SotBE and possible motive for targeting likely former-members like Preston. (1/?) -TAIt also explains why Ivan would be in Ford’s journals, since the leader/member of a Bill-related cult would be someone Bill would want to introduce Ford to, and that Ford would want to know: A Bill Cult would know all the black magic shown in Journal 2, as well as the counter-defenses to Bill and the mindscape listed in Journal 3. Which brought me to a crazy theory: what if Blind Ivan is the glasses on the cipher wheel? (2/?)
The Cult and Stan's Memory:
"'Huh, and the photo of Stan with crossed out eyes is from Dreamscaperers, and Bill did say that he's in Stan's memory "somewhere" Maybe this means that Bill might've messed with Stan's memories of Carla, or that he did something in Stan's mind involving Carla? -TA' -submitted by anonymous to headful-of-feathers
Bill certainly could have a motive for doing this but… does he have an ability? Just entering the Mindscape only allows you to temporarily interact with memories, not permanently alter them. And I’m not even sure if Bill can enter it if a person doesn’t tell him to through a deal (like Gideon did this to Stan and Ford to himself, on an even larger extent).
What’s that on the margins??
It looks just like Stan’s Fez symbol. And in the corners there are Bills. And there’s still the issue with this:
There was a theory that Stan could’ve wanted SotBE to wipe a memory of Carla from his mind. But, uh, wouldn’t it be better if they erased everything? It doesn’t seem to add up. Okay but WHAT IF the primary goal of the Society was to erase BILL from people’s minds and his images? Then, if the memory gun was only set on “Bill Cipher” and not “Carla McCorkle” it could explain why other memories of her are still there, but the one about their “break up” seems “hallucinatory”. Also this explains why Stan seems to have known Fiddleford in the past (he doesn’t laugh at him in Legend of the Gobblewonker, etc, this is not a post for that)
Ford: “(…) Ancient incantations about a being with answers. It warned me not to read them, but I was desperate.“ - sounds a lot like Ford wasn’t the first one tricked by Bill, huh? How does it relate to SotBE? It’s because its ex-leader, Blind Ivan, was previously in a Bill-centric secret cult (I’m not crazy, give a little while to present evidence [it’s thoroughly presented in THIS post])! And then after it turned out how evil the demon actually was he and Fiddleford (not sure how exactly it went down) turned the whole thing into a group wanting to stop Bill, not worship. “I was so blind, he lied to me. The darkness is near”. And a crossed out eye…. crossed out…
eye.. a BLIND EYE. Could those have been Blind Ivan’s words as well?Well, he did apparently regret his whole pre-SotBE life according to end credits page code for this episode. (and had worked with Ford and Bill before the betrayal, ok but there’s another post for this [here])
Can you see how it got turned into the SotBE symbol later by adding red spray paint to an ALREADY EXISTING door with hands worshiping and eye?? Hey, have more pics of how old this place actually is and how…
many eyes… are there…
Oh this one reminds me of one floating yellow triangle… ;)
don’t the symbols on them look just like…
that image from Ford’s dream in “The Last Mabelcorn”?
