No, this isn't another goodbye! What do you guys take me for? *accusing look*
Haha, I was actually going to put a different post up today! But this came up, and I just want to talk about it. I was on randomthingyz.weebly.com... Idk, but I consider Jazelyn and Louie weebly friends, they're pretty cool~
He just put a blog post about how Weebly is Dead, and I don't know, I feel kinda sad. It talked about how a lot of the old weebly sites are gone, and how even his and Jazelyn's aren't updated anymore. And when he put it up, this website and sincerely-hope was still on its huge hiatus (over a month long!)...
Weebly sadly isn't as big as other social media things, like tumblr, which is a highly popular blogging site. Tumblr has a huge community, and Weebly is kinda small... It is mainly used for businesses, and I rarely find one that is just a personal website. And when I do... It hasn't been updated in a while. Personally, I don't think it's dead, per se- but it's just that Weebly is so underappreciated.
If you go through old comments in Jazelyn's guestbook (she has been around since 2010), you will see that there are a bunch of comments from people who used to have their own websites. The majority are from webs, and only a small handful are from weebly. None of them are being updated anymore.
BUT THE POINT OF THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT HOW DEAD EVERYTHING SEEMS, IT IS ABOUT THE OPPOSITE.
Around 400 people visit this site. You people are beautiful, wonderful people, who have your own capability to make a website. We need to bring Weebly back to life!
I know, I know, it may be a lost cause... But we can try.
I want to get to know all of you! I want to read your blog posts, and see your creativity shine. It might be small, but why can't Weebly have it's own little community? Tumblr can't have all the fame.
Louie, I hope you don't shut down your site! If you do I understand, it's your decision. Maybe you could upload some of your animations as you pursue your animating career. :)
A friend of mine, Aliya, is in the process of creating her own website. You guys can go it too, I know you can!
Let's do it guys! Let's bring Weebly back to life! #reviveweebly
If you ever make your own website (I hope you guys do), please comment below and tell me what it is! I'd love to check it out!!
Hm maybe when someone makes their own personal website, I'll add it to the Blog Roll
'Til next time! ~Kimiko Hope
